Meet our new Senior Talent Consultant, Daniel!

Mared Jones

1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your experience.

I’m Daniel, a Specialist Recruitment Consultant based in Ruthin, a vibrant market town in north Wales. After graduating in 2017 from Liverpool John Moores University with a degree in Sports Coaching, I’ve gained vast experience in various customer-facing roles. Over the past few years, I’ve discovered my true passion in recruitment.

I knew I wanted to pursue a career where I could combine my strong communication skills and my interest in helping others. I’m passionate about creating long-lasting relationships with both candidates and clients and the opportunity to have such a direct impact on someone's career or a company’s growth is incredibly rewarding. The personal connections and success stories I’ve witnessed make every day a fulfilling one.

2. What inspired you to join Darogan?

I was inspired to join Darogan due to experiencing firsthand the lack of advertising for amazing job opportunities within Wales. Many employers in Wales are at a disadvantage, as job listings often come from larger cities such as Chester, Liverpool, Manchester, and London. This leaves Welsh companies with a smaller pool of candidates and, more importantly, it means they risk losing out on incredible local talent. It’s crucial to help elevate Welsh businesses and contribute to the Welsh economy by ensuring that local opportunities are promoted effectively and reach the right people. Darogan's mission to bridge that gap resonated deeply with me, and I’m excited to be part of this effort.

3. What are your hobbies and interests?

When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me exploring the outdoors, especially the stunning landscapes of North Wales. I’m an avid movie buff, love hiking, and discovering new places to unwind.

I’m also a huge sports fan, particularly football, I’ll never turn down an opportunity to watch a Manchester United match with friends (don’t judge!). On quieter days, I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

4. What are you most looking forward to in your role with Darogan?

As Darogan's new Senior Talent Consultant, I’m most excited about continuing to build strong relationships with both clients and candidates in the numerous events we conduct throughout the UK. I look forward to identifying talented professionals and introducing them to their next role here in Wales.

1. Dyweda ychydig amdano dy hun a dy brofiad.

Daniel ydw i a dwi’n Ymgynghorwr Recriwtio Arbenigol o Ruthun, tref farchnad bywiog yng ngogledd Cymru. Ar ôl graddio o Brifysgol John Moores Lerpwl gyda gradd mewn Hyfforddi Chwaraeon yn 2017, dwi wedi ennill profiad eang mewn trawstoriad o rolau sy’n ymwneud â chwsmeriaid. Dros y blynyddoedd, dwi wedi darganfod fy ngwir frwdfrydedd ar gyfer recriwtio.

Roeddwn yn gwybod fy mod i eisiau dilyn gyrfa lle gallwn gyfuno fy sgiliau cyfathrebu cryf a fy niddordeb mewn helpu eraill. Dwi’n angerddol am greu perthnasoedd parhaol gydag ymgeiswyr a chleientiaid ac mae’r cyfle i gael effaith mor uniongyrchol ar yrfa unigolyn neu ar dyfiant cwmni yn werth chweil dros ben. Mae’r cysylltiadau personol a’r llwyddiannau dwi’n eu gweld yn gwneud pob dydd yn un boddhaus.

2. Beth wnaeth dy ysbrydoli i ymuno â Darogan?

Cefais i ysbrydoli i ymuno â Darogan ar ôl derbyn profiad uniongyrchol o’r diffyg mewn hysbysebu ar gyfer swyddi gwych yng Nghymru. Mae sawl cyflogwr yng Nghymru dan anfantais oherwydd mae hysbysebion swyddi yn aml yn dod o ddinasoedd mwy fel Caer, Lerpwl, Manceinion a Llundain. Mae hyn yn gadael cwmnïau Cymru gyda chronfa lai o ymgeiswyr ac, yn bwysicach fyth, maent mewn perygl o golli allan ar ddenu talent leol anhygoel.

Mae’n hollbwysig helpu uwcholeuo busnesau Cymreig a chyfrannu at economi’r wlad drwy sicrhau bod cyfleoedd lleol yn cael eu hyrwyddo’n effeithiol ac yn cyrraedd y bobl iawn. Mae nod Darogan i wireddu potensial Cymru yn un sy’n agos iawn at fy nghalon, a dwi’n edrych ymlaen at fod yn rhan o’r ymdrech hon

3. Beth yw dy hobïau a dy ddiddordebau?

Pan dwi ddim yn gweithio, rydych yn fwyaf tebygol o ddod o hyd i mi’n crwydro’r awyr agored, yn enwedig yn enwedig ymhlith gogoniant tirwedd gogledd Cymru. Dwi hefyd yn mwynhau gwylio ffilmiau, mynd am dro, a dod o hyd i lefydd newydd i ymlacio.

Dwi hefyd yn ffan enfawr o chwaraeon, yn enwedig pêl-droed. Wna i byth wrthod y cyfle i wylio Manchested United gyda fy ffrindiau (paid beirniadu!). Ar ddyddiau mwy tawel, dwi’n mwynhau darllen, gwrando ar bodlediadau, ac arbrofi gyda ryseitiau newydd yn y gegin.

4.  Beth wyt ti’n edrych ymlaen ato fwyaf gyda dy rôl newydd gyda Darogan?

Fel Uwch Ymghynghorydd Talent newydd Darogan, dwi’n edrych ymlaen at barhau i feithrin perthnasoedd cadarn gyda chleientiaid ac ymgeiswyr yn y digwyddiadau rydym yn eu cynnal ledled y wlad. Dwi hefyd yn edrych ymlaen at ddod o hyd i unigolion proffesiynol a dawnus a’u cyflwyno i’w rôl nesaf yma yng Nghymru.
