When we first introduced Darogan at the end of 2018, the world was a very different place.
The current pandemic has caused untold damage to communities across Wales and the world, and the looming economic recession will no doubt cause further disruption to jobs and society as a whole.
Welsh students and graduates – hundreds of whom expressed great enthusiasm for our ambition to bring talent to our nation many months ago – now also face an uncertain future.
A graduate network for you
These last few weeks have only strengthened our belief that now, more than ever, is the right time to have a vibrant and dynamic graduate network led by young people who understand the challenges and opportunities of building a career.
Even before the current crisis, we were working with businesses across Wales to deliver a platform that most effectively served those looking for graduate opportunities across our nation. This has meant we have changed a few things – including our name – to reflect what businesses, leaders in higher education and young people wanted to see from our network.
Our new digital platform is the first important step to show to the ‘Covid generation’, as we have been dubbed, that there are still fantastic opportunities to work and contribute to the Welsh economy.
What’s new?
As we activate our new website, we are delighted to welcome our first few business partners – including our founding partner and recruitment specialist Acorn, insurance firm Admiral, financial services group Thomas Carroll, professional services company PwC, city deal Cardiff Capital Region, and Wales' best-known whisky distillery and brand, Penderyn – to the Darogan Talent community.
Through our new Jobs page, they will be sharing exciting positions available in their markets. Additionally, leaders from these companies – as well as other members of the Darogan community – will be posting advice and guidance to students, in addition to their own thoughts on the wider economic picture, on our News and Advice pages.
You can join our community by becoming a member of Darogan Talent for free today; this means you will be a part of our exciting graduate careers network. And it’s not all about jobs either – you’ll have the opportunity to engage with potential employers and make connections with fellow students and graduates. Above all, our platform is all about giving you the tools to help create a community of students, graduates and businesses.
The finished article
Coronavirus has inevitably delayed our plans for an in-person launch this year, but over the next few weeks and months we are looking forward to welcoming new businesses as our partners and plenty of new members to take advantage of their opportunities.
But please bear with us – there may be a few nooks and crannies that we need to fix from time-to-time, and we also want to hear from you as to how we make Darogan Talent better. We are not the finished article just yet, but we are very proud of our journey so far and what we can offer you today.
For now, we are very excited to be welcoming you to our new live site. We hope you find the opportunity that you are looking for.
If you have any questions or concerns, as well as any ideas as to what you would like to see from us over the next few months, please get in touch with us.
