Shared Prosperity Fund: North Wales is responsible for managing and administering the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) on behalf of the 6 North Wales local authorities.  We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Projects Officer who wants to advance their career in a busy and supportive workplace.

This position is ideally suited to someone with a business support or financial background, that has an eye for detail.  

In this position you will use the systems and processes required for the delivery of the UKSPF in North Wales and your duties will include processing project claims, monitoring data and managing queries. You’ll also work closely with the local UKSPF teams in the 6 North Wales local authorities.  

We can offer flexible working arrangements and are ready to consider job sharing, reduced hours and secondments.

This is a fixed-term position until 30 June 2026.

Purpose of the Post.
• Support the efficient delivery of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) in North Wales
• Helping to safeguard the interests of the lead authority (Gwynedd Council) in the delivery of the programme.
• Ensure that the people of the North Wales region are at the centre of everything we do.

Main Duties
• To support the development and implementation of processes and systems to ensure the efficient delivery of the UKSPF in North Wales which will invest £126.46 million across Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham by March 2025.
• Supporting and safeguarding of the interests of Gwynedd Council as the lead authority for the delivery of the UKSPF in North Wales – and the interests of all six North Wales Local Authorities - by ensuring the efficient delivery of the UKSPF in accordance with the rules, regulations and contractual requirements of the UK Government and all legal obligations.
• Supporting the development and implementation of efficient processes and systems required for the delivery of the UKSPF in North Wales (including application, decision making, project selection, funding awards, claims, etc.)
• Supporting the delivery of the processes required under the legal agreement between the individual counties and Gwynedd Council as the lead authority.
• Collaborating with Gwynedd Council Legal and Finance teams as required to administer the UKSPF in North Wales.
• Working closely with local UKSPF teams in the six authorities to successfully deliver the programme.
• Support and administer the governance structures linked to the UKSPF in North Wales.

• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
• Operate within the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
• Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council’s information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
• Commitment to reducing the Council’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council’s Carbon Footprint.
• Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
• Responsibility to report any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused.
