Role Summary

Accountable to the Technical Manager, the Junior Electronic Design Engineer will apply solutions to design requirements in Electronic & Electrical Design and/or Software Development.

About the Role:

  • Developing Electronic designs and or software solutions in compliance with defined requirements and system architectures.
  • Developing all required supporting documentation during the development of the solution in accordance with defined Engineering procedures.
  • Ensuring that all work is delivered in accordance with allocated work packages to the required cost and time targets and the defined quality standards.
  • Supporting all relevant Integration and Qualification Activities in ensuring the assigned design element works as part of the broader electronic system.
  • Contributing to component selection and definition in the STG Aerospace development tools.
  • Following Design & Development Processes and Procedures and completes all relevant checklists during the development of product solutions.
  • Identifying and supports opportunities for the improvement of the engineering function as well as the wider business including the development of new procedures and artefacts when required.
  • Following configuration management processes and identifies solutions where product or process falls short of such requirements.

About You:

  • HND or Degree qualified in Electronic or Software Development, or equivalent
  • Ability to understand and create Electronic Schematics & Wiring Diagrams
  • Strong numerical and verbal ability.
  • Exposure to Altium Design Software or similar
  • Hands on experience of Laboratory equipment (Oscilloscopes, Multimeters & Bench Power Supplies)
  • Understanding of Software Principles

Role Location

The role will be primarily based on site in the Innovation & Engineering Centre, located in Cwmbran, South Wales. This is easily commutable from Cardiff and Bristol. Use of a car is essential due to location although some home working is possible.

Please note that this is a 6 month contract with potential to go permanent.
